Marc David Wright is a theatre director, performer, and teaching artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, Marc followed his dreams across the Hudson to study Acting at Fordham University, where he was immersed in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative learning environment. In college he cultivated his passion for Directing, and his senior thesis/directorial debut transferred to the Edinburgh Fringe and was named one of the 10 must-see LBGT+ Shows of the festival. Amidst the Covid pandemic he Co-Founded The Village, serving as Artistic Director of an independent arts collective connecting emerging artists with audiences at fourteen sold-out Salon events in New York, and 1 in LA, and boasting developmental programming such as their Artist-In-Residence and New Playwrights Cohort (iminthevillage.org). Marc is currently a member of the Roundabout Theatre Company Directors Group, Cohort 7 for 2025-2026. He was named a Finalist for the 2025 Eugene O'Neill Center Musical Theatre Conference for his contributions to the new science-fiction romantic comedy Planet W, along with composers Matt Coakley and Franco Giacomarra. Marc is a proud drama director and teaching artist at several competitive high schools theatre programs, and has directed students in award-winning productions of Pippin, Les Misérables, A Chorus Line, Into the Woods, 1984, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Macbeth.
